Top Flight, one ensemble with the Band of the West, performs to local school districts during Red Ribbon Week within Joint Base San Antonio, Texas. Like other ensembles within the USAF Band of the West, Top Flight performs in support of official military gatherings, Air Force recruiting, and community relations events. They are also able to reach thousands of school children each year with an important, socially relevant “Stay in School” and “Say No to Drugs” message.

Red Ribbon Week is an ideal way for people and communities to unite and take a visible stand against drugs. It is a way to present a unified and visible commitment towards the creation of a drug-free America. Red Ribbon Week runs from October 23-31st each year. These concerts are high-energy, high-production rock/pop shows designed to connect with the communities and encourage local elementary school aged kids to "Stay in School" and "Be Kind to Your Mind. Live Drug Free." (U.S. Air Force Photo by Sarayuth Pinthong)
