Recruits participate in Battle Stations 21 in the USS Trayer at U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command (RTC), Great Lakes, Illinois. Battle Stations 21 is 12-hour event that serves as a Recruit’s final evaluation. Upon successful completion, Recruits are awarded a Navy ball cap to replace the recruit ball cap they received on their first day of training. Boot camp is approximately 10 weeks and all enlistees into the U.S. Navy begin their careers at the command. More than 40,000 Recruits train annually at the Navy’s only boot camp.
