AFE Manage the inspection, maintenance and adjustments to assigned aircrew flight equipment including these 46-man life rafts. Within a training environment where there are oftentimes no power, these rafts take nearly 10 minutes to inflate. This lead to our SERE specialist Master Sgt. Kristopher Peterson and AFE team to search for an innovative alternative. Utilizing a scuba tank, our Steel Airman were able to reduce inflation time to 45 seconds. This change can allow for more time to instruct aircrew during water survival training.(U.S. Air Force video by Tech. Sgt. James E. Harris III )
