240110-N-MA751-2001 VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia (January 10, 2024) Assault Craft Unit 4 (ACU4) is the U.S. Atlantic Fleet homeport for 21 Landing Craft Air Cushions (LCAC). Sailors assigned to ACU4 learn to man and operate LCACs through live missions exercises in order to maintain the highest state of readiness. These LCACs have opened over 70% of the world’s beaches for amphibious assault and operations, setting ACU4 apart as one of the premier commands in the Navy’s amphibious arsenal.
