The Oklahoma Warriors hockey team hosted Fort Sill Soldiers at their Military Appreciation Night Jan. 19, 2024.
The 77th Army Band kicked off the night with the National Anthem. Immediately after, Maj. Gen. Phil Brooks and Command Sgt. Maj. Neil Sartain, Fires Center of Excellence and Fort Sill commanding general and command sergeant major, got the game started with the puck drop.
After the first period, Brooks performed a reenlistment ceremony for band member Spc. Joe Verbal, who accepted another 3-year contract with the U.S. Army. Lastly, Soldiers from the Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers (BOSS) had some fun during a game on the ice, which required them to perform push-ups and burpees for every missed goal attempt.
