U.S. Marines with the maritime raid force, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, and Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Amphibious Rapid Deployment Brigade Recon Company, conduct one-rope bridge, rappel, and endurance course training during a bilateral field training for Iron Fist 24, at Jungle Warfare Training Center, Camp Gonsalves, Okinawa, Japan, Feb. 26, 2024. Bilateral training tests readiness and ability to respond to crisis in challenging and time-sensitive conditions. Iron Fist is an annual bilateral exercise designed to increase interoperability and strengthen the relationships between the U.S. Marine Corps, the U.S. Navy, the JGSDF, and the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force.
