The 76th Operational Response Command values diversity and celebrates the service and achievements of our Black Soldiers during February and all throughout the year. Black History Month honors the past and current contributions of Black servicemembers, promotes diversity and inclusion, inspires future generations, and reaffirms the Army's core values.
Sgt. Maj. Edward I. Carrington is the G-5 Plans sergeant major at the 76th ORC. Sgt. Maj. Carrington considers coaching and mentoring a great inspiration during his over 30+ year military career in the U.S. Army Reserve.
"The military gave me the greatest understanding of selfless leadership," said Carrington.
The Army story cannot be told without recognizing the tremendous contributions
of Black Americans to our country and our history. In this video, Sgt. Maj. Carrington shared his experiences and his unique perspectives gained throughout his decades of service.
