U.S. Marines and Army Soldiers familiarize themselves with snowshoes during Artillery Relocation Training Program 23.4 at Yausubetsu Maneuver Area, Hokkaido, Japan, Feb 22, 2024. The skills developed at ARTP increase the proficiency and readiness of the only permanently forward-deployed artillery unit in the Marine Corps, enabling them to provide precision indirect fires. The Marines are with 3d Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment attached to 12th Marine Littoral Regiment, 3d Marine Division. The Soldiers are with Ace Troop 214 Cavalry, 25th Infantry Division.
