The port of Alexandroupolis in Greece made sustainment history as it facilitates movement of the first "heavy" infantry brigade on March 11, 2024. The 624th Movement Control Team, 598th Transportation Brigade, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, the 21st Theater Sustainment Command, and Hellenic Forces downloaded approximately 3,000 pieces of equipment to include Bradley Fighting Vehicles, Joint Light Tactical Vehicles, Mine Resistant Ambush Protected All-Terrain Vehicles, and M1 Abrams Tanks from the vessel Leroy A. Mendonca. The equipment will be transported to multiple locations to generate rapid combat power to deter potential aggression and reassure NATO allies.
