Maj. Gen. David Doyle, commanding general 4th Infantry Division and Fort Carson, speaks at the Medal of Honor sign unveiling ceremony, Fort Carson, Colorado, March 25, 2024. Fort Carson, has 49 Medal of Honor recipients who will be recognized and honored with placards above the streets named after them. The placards will annotate which conflict they received the Medal of Honor in, and will serve as a reminder to everyone of the sacrifices of those who came before them.
We're very fortunate the division headquarters, soon to be named McNerney Hall, that sits at the intersection of Nelson and Wetzel, both of which were Medal of Honor recipients. So every single day when our leaders come into the office, they'll know that they are a part of something special a lineage a legacy and a history that is absolutely amazing.
