U.S. Navy sailors with 1st Medical Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group, participate in a Emergency Fresh Whole Blood Transfusion Program on Camp Pendleton, California, March 27, 2024. The purpose of this training is to qualify personnel in emergency fresh whole blood transfusion procedures so that they have the skill set needed to collect fresh whole blood from donors and transfuse that unit into a patient if needed in an emergent situation.
