Video by Tech. Sgt. Tory Patterson

    59th Medical Wing

In this video, learn how to give a non-military parent access to medical records and allow them to schedule appointments for you and your dependents.

Step 1: Visit the DS Logon page https://myaccess.dmdc.osd.mil and login into the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal

Step 2: From the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal home screen, you'll see a section titled "Relationships."

Step 3: Click "Change Relationships" to give adult beneficiaries permission to act on your behalf. You can also scroll down and give permission to a spouse to act on behalf of dependents they may not be able to see in their own profile.

Step 4: Click "Add Permission" and then choose a person you want your spouse to have access to while using the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal. Be sure to choose the date range you want them to have access.

    Step 5: Click "Save."

Please note it may take up to 48 hours to update. If you're still having an issue after that time, the problem may be in DEERS (Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System) itself.
