The 411th Engineer Brigade will soon deploy overseas to support Operation Enduring Freedom. Under the command of Colonel Kirk Claunch, the headquarters will collaborate closely with international partners and local authorities to provide engineer support to units in the theater.
During a departure ceremony held at the Sgt. Catalin D. Dima Army Reserve Center in New Windsor, New York, Col. Claunch said, "We have made a great effort to be ready for this [deployment]...As we case these colors, bear in mind that the tradition, all of our effort, and all of our sacrifice are part of this moment."
This weekend's casing of the colors solidifies the movement of a garrison brigade headquarters to a forward operating station in a deployed environment.
