U.S. Marines celebrate 4th Marine Regiment’s 110th anniversary on Camp Schwab, Okinawa, Japan, April 12, 2024. 4th Marine Regiment was first activated in Puget Sound, Washington, April 16, 1914, and has partaken in most major U.S. conflicts since its inception. Notably, the 4th Marine Regiment participated in the famous “mosquito bowl” football game played on Guadalcanal in 1944. The Regiment continues to modernize and prepare for potential future conflicts while working closely with allies and partners to support a free and open Indo-Pacific. (U.S. Marine Corps video by Cpl.
