Years ago, Civil Engineering and Services Airmen exercised their contingency preparedness together as PRIME BEEF and PRIME RIBS teams, which stands for Prime Base Engineer Emergency Force and Prime Readiness In Base Services. CE and Services partnered again for the first time in decades to participate in Readiness Challenge X held April 21-26 at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida. The capstone competition for Department of the Air Force civil engineers tests Airmen’s readiness to conduct base response and recovery operations in contested environments. Four-member Services teams joined each of the 12 CE teams in the competition to test their readiness to establish and conduct bed down, food services, morale and other operations in the field.
