WASHINGTON NAVY YARD (May 7, 2024) - Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) Director Vice Adm. Johnny Wolfe Jr. speaks directly to the Navy's Engineering Duty Officer (EDO) community about leadership, values, and lessons he has learned in the last 30 years as an EDO. The EDO Community is involved with the design, acquisition, construction, repair, maintenance, conversion, overhaul and disposal of ships, submarines, aircraft carriers and the systems on those platforms. SSP is the acquisitions command that has cradle-to-grave responsibility for the submarine-launched ballistic missile system, overseeing all aspects of research, development, production, logistics, storage, repair, and operational support, which directly contributes to the Navy's vital sea-based strategic deterrence mission to protect and defend the nation.
