The city of DuPont, Washington, becomes a Purple Heart city and hosts Congressional Gold Medal ceremony, May 5, 2024. A city can become a Purple Heart city only after the mayor gives a proclamation and presentation to a local chapter of the Military Order of the Purple Heart.
