The 1st Infantry Division participates in the 164th General Hospital Memorial Ceremony in commemoration of D-Day 79 celebrations in Bolleville La Haye, France, June 3, 2023. The ceremony honored the personnel of the 164th General Hospital, which was the first to land from the U.S. in Berbourg on Sept. 24, 1944. Seventy-nine years later, the bravery and heroism by all Allies during World War II continue to resonate with U.S. forces in Europe – who remain steadfast in their commitment to European allies and partners.
