Presented by Kenneth McGaffey
Synopsis:
Blockchain primarily makes media headlines when an exploit occurs, resulting in the loss of millions in digital currency. These attacks differ from traditional cyber crime in that all information is publicly available and response is most often the efforts of non-government actors in the ecosystem, such as exchanges and on chain analyst groups. This talk will use a few high profile attacks to examine the technical details of on-chain exploitation and how programming best practices can prevent similar bugs. It will also cover how on chain forensics provides a complete record of chain of custody, aiding in the identification of the attacker and recovery of funds.
