U.S. Marines Corps chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear defense specialists with 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, conduct a chemical response element exercise, on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, June 21, 2024. CREEX simulates the deployment of CBRN defense specialists to coordinate with explosive ordnance disposal technicians from Combat Logistics Battalion 31 and a ground support team from Battalion Landing Team 1/4, both with the 31st MEU, to conduct reconnaissance, site exploitation, control contamination, and provide technical decontamination.
