The Washington National Guard conducted a change of responsibility ceremony for the command senior enlisted leader (CSEL) for the state of Washington on Sept. 7, 2024 at Camp Murray, WA. The National Anthem was sung by Sgt. Tricia Scheer from the 133d Washington Army National Guard Band and the invocation was given by Maj. Andrew Paulson, the 81st SBCT Brigade Chaplain. The Adjutant General Brig. Gen. Welsh presided over the transfer of responsibly from Command Sgt. Maj. Bruce Ecclestone to Chief Master Sgt. Allan Lawson. On this day Chief Master Sgt. Lawson assumed the duties of CSEL for the Washington National Guard. This position represents the highest level of enlisted leadership for the Washington National Guard and is responsible for the welfare, readiness, morale, and development of its enlisted personnel.
