Soundbite 00:16:13 Master Sgt. April Neibacher 174th Supply NCO of the Adirondack Range 48
The 174th Attack Wing hosted Operation Jaded Thunder at Adirondack Range 48, a joint force exercise with Air Force TACPS, Army Mortar Teams, and Marine helicopter pilots. This training sharpens their skills for possible combat situations.
This yearly training rotates throughout multiple military bases and is being held in New York for the first time in seven years. This is the only range in the Northeast that has the capability to handle the dropping of munitions along with air to ground operations.
Everything from scheduling fly over times, communication with the operators down range, and ensuring the safety of all involved parties are managed by members of the 174th attack wing in their communications tower.
