U.S. Marines with Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron, Marine Corps Air Station Miramar and units across 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, conduct security augmentation force training at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, California, July 26, 2024. Marines participated in training consisting of self-defense, detainment an individual, deterring potential threats and executing non-lethal weapons tactics after being sprayed with oleoresin capsicum spray. The SAF plays a pivotal role in the protection of MCAS Miramar and 3rd MAW personnel, aircraft and assets, reinforcing the teamwork and cooperation between the two commands and enabling 3rd MAW to provide aviation support to I Marine Expeditionary Force and Marine Air Ground Task Force operations.
