The U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence hosted a Flight School Next Industry Day on Oct. 29, 2024, at Fort Novosel, Alabama. The event provided industry with an overview of the U.S. Army Initial Entry Rotary Wing (IERW) program as USAACE seeks to simultaneously improve the quality of training to new Army aviators, cut costs, and improve efficiency while collecting data from industry partners to inform future IERW decisions. A recording of the overview brief is being released for full transparency, with minimal editing for time and ARAC video quality. Embedded in the recording are two videos that show just how busy the mission of Flight Training at Fort Novosel is and the progression of young pilots from learning how to hover to tactical flight in the local area utilizing terrain Nap of the Earth Routes and landing in a Remote Training Site, and concludes with the current supervised stagefield solo flights by our student.
