The Coast Guard held a ribbon cutting and commissioning ceremony at Naval Base Ventura County, Point Mugu, on November 13, 2024, celebrating the opening of the Coast Guard's newest air station in 25 years. Air Station Ventura features a $70 million state-of-the-art, 48,000 square-foot hangar and a 12,000 square-foot administration facility, ensuring that Coast Guard personnel have the resources to carry out their vital missions. This new facility is expected to house three MH-60 Jayhawk helicopters and approximately 100 personnel, significantly enhancing the Coast Guard's regional capabilities.
