NORFOLK, Va. (Dec. 23, 2024) Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5) commanding officer Capt. Trace Head gives a holiday message on the barge mess decks, Dec. 23. In the message Head recapped the year and wished Sailors and their families well. Bataan is currently undergoing regularly scheduled repairs in the General Dynamics National Steel and Shipbuilding Company (NASSCO) shipyards ship yard in support of a regularly scheduled maintenance period for modernization and repairs.
