240507-N-CO548-1001 SAN DIEGO (May 7, 2024) Why was the Puzzle Pieces Association created aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72)? Master-at-arms Second Class Kayla Sisk, a Lincoln Sailor and a mother of two children diagnosed with autism speaks about being a single mother while serving active duty. The Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) is a mandatory program that requires enrollment of all dependents (adults and children) with special medical, educational, developmental, and/or emotional needs or concerns. The Puzzle Pieces Association aboard Abraham Lincoln helps to support Sailors with dependents diagnosed with autism that receive services from the program.
