News package about the 418th Civil Affairs Battalion in Moroto, Uganda. Moroto is a remote region of Uganda, 20 years behind the rest of the country in every aspect of life. The Ugandan government is trying to integrate the Karamoja people into the rest of Ugandan society, and have started with a disarmament campaign to help quell the cattle rustling that takes place. Because the government is trying to disarm them, the locals do not trust the government. The 418th Civil Affairs Battalion has stepped in to help ease the process through local initiatives such as the Veterinary Civil Action Program. Produced by Staff Sgt. Nick McNaughton. Includes soundbites from Capt. Nathan Heller - 418TH Civil Affairs Battalion Team Leader, Moroto, Uganda and Josephine Amodoi - Livestock Extension Officer for Medical Development Forum, Moroto.
