U.S. Soldiers assigned to brigades under the XVIII Airborne Corps conduct a combat water assessment during the XVIII Airborne Corps Brigade Separates Best Squad Competition at Fort Eustis, Virginia, Feb. 4, 2025. During the assessment, Soldiers had to swim laps in uniform while carrying a rucksack and a rubber weapon. Holistic health and fitness are a cornerstone of a combat-ready squad, and the combat swim assessment allowed competitors to demonstrate their physical strength and endurance.
