U.S. Soldiers assigned to brigades under the XVIII Airborne Corps fly in a CH-47 Chinook helicopter as a part of the XVIII Airborne Corps Brigade Separates Best Squad Competition on Fort Story, Virginia, Feb. 5, 2025. The Soldiers executed a “hot load” on the aircraft, meaning they boarded when the engine was still running and the rotors active. The Best Squad Competition is designed to test a squad's cohesion and proficiency and determine which team will represent their brigade at the XVIII Airborne Corps Best Squad Competition.
