NORFOLK, Va. (Feb. 25, 2025) Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5) Medical Department conducts medical training by showing the duty section how to properly set a splint on the ship’s barge mess decks, Feb. 25. Bataan’s medical training team performs trainings with the crew monthly to educate and prepare the ship’s force on proper standards in case of an actual medical emergency. Bataan is currently undergoing regularly scheduled repairs in the General Dynamics National Steel and Shipbuilding Company (NASSCO) shipyards.
