U.S. Marines with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 214, Marine Aircraft Group 12, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing from Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Arizona, loaded ordnance onto F-35 Lighting II aircraft on Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, March 25, 2025. This exercise marked the first time VMFA-214 loaded live ordnance on aircraft since their arrival to MCAS Iwakuni under the Unit Deployment Program, which allows units based in the U.S. to gain operational experience in the Indo-Pacific region.
