The Coast Guard Cutter Terrell Horne is being commissioned at Base Los Angeles/Long Beach, March 22, 2019. The ship is a fast-response cutter named after Coast Guard Senior Chief Petty Officer Terrell Horne III, who was murdered by suspected drug smugglers who intentionally rammed the boat he and fellow Coast Guardsmen were aboard during law enforcement operations near Santa Cruz Island off the Southern California coast in December 2012. The Terrell Horne is the third of four FRCs to be homeported in California.
