Cpl. Evan Shelton, a crew chief with the Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 361 (Reduced) (Reinforced) "Flying Tigers," observes the immediate airspace as another CH-53E Super Stallion carries a disabled H-47 Chinook to Forward Operating Base Jalalabad, Afghanistan, for repairs Dec. 10. An empty mount stands where a GAL-17 .50 caliber machine gun rests. All additional cargo and weight was removed from both aircraft in preparation for lifting the 23,500 pound Chinook.
