William Cox, U.S. Army Casualty Office senior mortuary affairs specialist, gives an identification briefing to family members of U.S. Army Air Forces 2nd Lt. Pharis E. Weekley during a Family Member Update (FMU) in Orlando, Florida, Feb. 25, 2023. Weekley was a navigator assigned to the 329th Bombardment Squadron when the B-24 Liberator aircraft on which he was serving was hit by enemy anti-aircraft fire on Aug. 1, 1943. The aircraft then crashed north of Bucharest, Romania and his remains were not identified following the war.
