U.S. Air Force F-16 fighting falcons, assigned to the 36th Fighter Squadron from Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea, taxi down the runway at Korat Royal Thai Air Base, Kingdom of Thailand, Mar. 7, 2023, during Exercise Cobra Gold 2023. During the Vietnam conflict, the 36 FS flew combat missions into Southeast Asia from Korat Royal Thai Air Base. Cobra Gold, now in its 42nd year, is a Thai-U.S. co-sponsored training event that builds on the long-standing friendship between the two allied nations and brings together a robust multinational force to promote regional peace and security in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific.
