U.S. Coast Guardsmen from the Maritime Safety and Security Team join forces with Los Angeles County Sheriffs Air Units and Los Angeles Fire Dept. Harbor units to train for their K9 Vertical Insertion training on the waters near Coast Guard Base Los Angeles-Long Beach, May 3, 2023. This training, lowering both K9 Handlers and their canine partners from a helicopter to the boat and then hoisting them back up, helps them prepare for rapid response to threats, hone their skills, and obtain the best search behavior from the canines during insertion operations.
