Barracks Marines execute “Pass in Review’’ during the 38th Commandant of the Marine Corps Relinquishment of Office Ceremony at Marine Barracks Washington D.C., July 10, 2023. General David H. Berger relinquished the duties of the office of the Commandant of the Marine Corps to the Assistant Commandant, Gen. Eric M. Smith. While Gen. Smith has been nominated to be the 39th Commandant, his nomination remains pending in the Senate.
