Lance Cpl. Paul Vielkind, a light armored vehicle scout serving with Alpha Company, 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, spots for his partner firing the M107 Special Application Scoped Rifle during a weeklong SASR training course here, July 10 2013. This is the first time Vielkind, a native of Riverside, Calif., has fired a .50 caliber sniper rifle. Upon completion of the course, he will train his fellow Marines on the employment of the rifle.
