LEAD: I’m Sgt. Bob Yarbrough with your Bavaria Radio News Update.
Yesterday, we heard about the grand opening of the Welcome Center for U-S-A-G Bavaria. Now Mr. Michael Formica, director of Installation Management Command, Europe, tells us that our Welcome Center will be used as an example of how reception begins at every Army installation in Europe.
SB: Mr. Formica: “So we have a total of seven, and all seven are going to replicate this in one form or fashion to meet the needs of their community. The really great thing about the Army is, you know, every community is a little bit different. Each have a little bit different needs. We’ve got great Army professionals in each one of those locations that, just as you’ve seen here, demonstrate great passion and commitment to that mission.”
Welcome Centers aren’t the only things that help Soldiers and their families integrate into a new community. Our garrison is setting the standard for other installations to follow in other areas as well.
SB: Mr. Formica: “This really is, you know, the first step that we’re going to take as IMCOM Europe and it’s really the model that you will see elsewhere across the European footprint for the United States Army.”
