Cascadia Rising/ARDENT SENTRY is focused on the response to a great quake along the Cascadia fault off shore from Washington and Oregon. It includes several linked exercises including Vigilant Guard Washington (VG WA), Oregon Special Focus Exercise (OR SFE) and U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) exercises Turbo Challenge 16 and Joint Logistics Over The Shore (JLOTS). Air Force Reservists from the 304th and 305th Rescue Squadrons worked alongside local, state, federal and civilian partners during a joint disaster response exercise here June 7-9. The Cascadia Rising exercise was conducted at three Oregon locations -- Camp Rilea, Salem and Portland - and simulated a post-earthquake and tsunami environment with mass casualties in need of medical attention.
