Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Mark A. Welsh III will retire
after 30 years of service, including the longest tenure as CSAF in Air Force
history. Gen. Welsh has served in the position since 2012.

Air Force during a ceremony June 24, 2016. If confirmed, Gen. Goldfein will take over for Gen. Mark A. Welsh III, who will retire after 30 years of service, including the longest tenure as CSAF in Air Force history.
