This graphic was created to accompany my "Protect program empowers Soldiers to support one another" story (https://www.dvidshub.net/news/458298/protect-program-empowers-soldiers-support-one-another).
The Protect Program is a three-day training course started by the 519th Military Police Battalion that empowers Soldiers at the grassroots level to protect one another from the harmful behaviors that erode trust and destroy cohesive teams. The program, which brings awareness to everyday issues, incentivizes Soldiers to volunteer as ambassadors for the Army’s Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention, Equal Opportunity and Suicide Prevention curriculums. Upon completing the training course, Soldiers earn a special ‘PROTECT’ tab to wear on Fort Johnson.
For this artwork, I wanted to represent various elements of the Protect Program: the shield with the 16th Military Police Brigade emblem, which represents the program's origins; the "Protect Program" tab awarded to volunteer graduates and the hands of a Soldier upholding both as a symbolic gesture to upload their duties to protect their fellow service member. This artwork was created in Adobe Illustrator. Elements used from Adobe Stock with an authorized license. (U.S. Army graphic by Porsha Auzenne).
