Ride Right. Stay in the Fight! The Naval Safety Command is kickstarting the new year in efforts in focusing on reducing or preventing motorcycle related crashes and fatalities. Since the start of FY 2025, the naval enterprise recorded a total of 16 motorcycle fatalities: 10 personnel from the Navy and six from the Marine Corps. According to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Traffic Safety Facts 2022 Data, motorcyclists accounted for 15% of all traffic fatalities in 2022. The health and well-being of our Sailors and Marines are essential to mission readiness. Every loss due to a motorcycle crash impacts the health and mission readiness of the naval enterprise.
