The 115th Fighter Wing celebrated its 70th anniversary during a private base event with invitations extended to its military members and civilians who have impacted the unit. The unit requested a logo for the event that was used in all marketing material and displayed during the celebration. Along with the logo was the motto “pillars of the past, foundations for the future”. The capitol building and Madison skyline represents the location of the base and its intent to protect its city, state, and nation. The drawn bow symbolizes the constant readiness of the wing, the lightning bolt represents the quick response of the unit, the broadhead indicates the ability to penetrate and bring down large prey and all of these elements are encompassed withing the home state of the base. The three aircraft in the top right corner (F-51, F-16, and F-35) represent the past, present, and future of the 115th Fighter Wing. The state is colored red in reference to its recognizable state color. The 10 elements in the outer ring represent the 10 outstanding unit awards that the base has earned. The F-16 on the left side of the ring represents the pillars of the past and the F-35 on the right side of the ring represents the foundations for the future.
