The run was held in honor of the 623rd Quartermaster Company which cased its colors during an inactivation ceremony also held Aug. 23. Riggers from the 623rd QM Company, the 647th QM Company and 11th QM Company joined in the run. The storied past of the 623rd includes tours in World War II, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan.
