Among the 130 Americans taking part in IR 13 are soldiers from the 1st Squadron, 7th U.S. Cavalry Regiment, from Fort Hood. Texas. Immediate Response 13 is a U.S. Army Europe sponsored exercise designed to prepare participating nations for increased contributions to ongoing and future NATO post ISAF operations, while enhancing regional cooperation, confidence, and security assurance among regional Balkan allies.
