Banning, a Chesterfield, Mich., native and turret gunner with Combat Logistics Regiment 2, Regional Command (Southwest), guides his vehicle into Forward Operating Base Shir Ghazi in Helmand province, Afghanistan, Aug. 22, 2013. More than 30 vehicles took part in the convoy, which provided simultaneous support to Forward Operating Bases Shir Ghazi and Shukvani.
