A brass bell used to signal the coming aboard of new chief petty officers awaits use during a promotion ceremony aboard Camp Lejeune, N.C., Sept. 13, 2013. The bell was traditionally used on naval vessels to alert the crew to the arrival of new officers and chiefs to the ship.
