Col. Brad Owens, director of operations and planning for the South Carolina Army National Guard visits soldiers from the 742nd Support Maintenance Company, SCARNG, and gets a tour of the maintenance base from Lt. Col. José Forero, Baman base commander, Sept. 19, 2013, in Baman, Colombia. While Owens was on the base, Colombian military public affairs asked for an interview. With the help of Sgt. Daniel Garcia-Benedetti, maintenance sergeant for the 742nd who translated for Owens, the interview was a success. “We are Americans helping Americans here, Learning from each other's experiences,” said Owens. “We are not just building Humvees, but we are building a friendship that goes beyond the work.” (U.S. Army National Guard Photo by OC Tracci Dorgan/Released)
